This website is my hobby site. It's where I put articles related to some of my quirky interests, most of which relate to history.

I love history. That's what sparks my interest in travel, costuming, and folklore.

That's one reason why I study genealogy, personally and professionally.

My research focuses on the United States, Ireland, England, and Scotland. My ancestral roots are in Ireland, and my immediate ancestors' surnames include Boyle, Cronin, Donnelly, Maguire, Maloney, Morey, Roche, and Tormey.

Mostly, I'm an artist. But, in my spare time, writing comes easily to me, and sometimes the money is great. I've written several books, and contributed to even more--mostly related to travel and how-to crafts--and hundreds of articles. That's why I've written articles about writing.

I'm also one of the first bloggers, before the word "blog" was created. My life has been online since the mid-1990s, under a pen name.
